Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea features five romanceable bachelors spread across its four seasonal villages: Robert, Aaron, Bryce, Hank, and Sergei. Developed by Natsume Inc. and IMAGICA GEEQ, the game includes 10 total marriage candidates (five bachelors and five bachelorettes) and allows marriage regardless of your protagonist's gender. However, because Robert is the default male protagonist, he is only available as a romance candidate if you play as the female protagonist, Carol.

Confirmed Bachelors and Backstories

Robert (Bloomfield Village)

Robert is the male protagonist of Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea. Similar to the system introduced in Harvest Moon: Home Sweet Home, the protagonist you do not select at character creation stays in the starter town of Bloomfield Village as your childhood friend. If you choose to play as Carol (the female protagonist), Robert moves into the role of a marriage candidate. He works with you early on in the story as Bloomfield deals with the mysterious mist and wild wolves prowling the town outskirts at night. If you choose to play as the male character, Robert is not available to date because you are playing as him.

Aaron (Tidewind)

Aaron lives in Tidewind, the summer-themed seaside port village battered by unnatural ocean storms. Visually, Aaron carries a relaxed coastal style, complete with an earring and a laid-back demeanor. Despite his calm appearance, his personal story centers on serious family responsibilities. Aaron's father vanished years ago in a shipwreck near the Remote Islands and never returned. Aaron is torn between his deep desire to set sail and search for his missing father, and his daily duty to remain in Tidewind to provide for his mother and two younger brothers.

Bryce (Maplehill Town)

Bryce resides in Maplehill Town, the large, autumn-themed cultural hub known for its architecture, nightlife, and music scene. Bryce is the younger son of one of Maplehill's most prominent, high-status families and dresses in a refined, regal style with blue attire. His personal conflict involves bridging the gap between his family's strict traditional values and the emerging artistic scene in the town. Bryce wants to convince his family that Maplehill can embrace modern music and creative expression without discarding its heritage.

Hank (Quarrytop Village)

Hank is located in Quarrytop Village, the snow-covered winter town where mining drives the local economy amid strange earthquakes. Unlike the lifelong residents of the village, Hank is an older, rough-around-the-edges adventurer and treasure hunter who wandered into Quarrytop from outside and decided to stay. Sporting a goatee and riding gear, Hank spends his time exploring rugged caves, searching for rare loot, and probing the deeper mysteries inside the Quarrytop Mine.

Sergei (Maplehill Town)

Sergei is an inventor living in Maplehill Town, characterized by his very pale skin, light-colored hair, and glasses. Driven by an intense curiosity for unusual occurrences, Sergei dedicates his time to scientific research and studying the odd phenomena affecting the land, particularly the unnatural mist creeping outward from the Forest of Echoes. Because recurring series inventor Doc Jr. is not an eligible marriage candidate, Sergei provides a scholarly, inventor-archetype romance path for players who prefer intellectual bachelors.

How Romance and Marriage Work in Echoes of Teradea

Romance in Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea follows the structure of recent Natsume entries while introducing regional progression:

  • Universal Marriage: Players can romance and marry any candidate of either gender. Same-sex relationships and marriage are fully supported.
  • Nine Options Per Playthrough: Although there are 10 total candidates designed for the game (five bachelors and five bachelorettes), you can only romance nine of them in a single save file. Because the unchosen protagonist fills the final slot, playing as the female protagonist gives you five bachelors and four bachelorettes, while playing as the male protagonist gives you four bachelors and five bachelorettes.
  • Story Completion Requirement: You can build affection and trigger character events with bachelors throughout your travels, but marriage itself remains locked until after you finish the game's main storyline.
  • Starting a Family: Once married in the post-game, players can have one child.
  • Gift Preferences and Schedules: Specific favorite gifts, exact heart event dialogue choices, and daily schedule timetables have not been fully published prior to the game's October 15, 2026 launch.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you marry Doc Jr. in Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea?

No. Doc Jr. returns in Maplehill Town to provide farming gadgets and automated tools, but he is strictly an NPC ally and cannot be romanced. Players interested in an inventor bachelor can pursue Sergei instead.

Can male characters marry the bachelors?

Yes. Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea allows you to pursue, date, and marry any candidate regardless of whether your protagonist is male or female.

Can you romance Robert if you play as a male farmer?

No. If you choose the male character model at the beginning of the game, you are playing as Robert. The unchosen female character, Carol, becomes the available candidate in Bloomfield Village instead. To romance Robert, you must select the female farmer during character creation.

How early in the game can you get married?

You cannot get married early in the story. While you can converse with bachelors, raise affection, and unlock friendship cutscenes as you travel between Bloomfield, Tidewind, Maplehill, and Quarrytop, full marriage is only unlocked after the primary story is completed.
